Main program dialog

Web Update Builder main dialog consists of two groups of data: Customer data and Web pages for Web Update Client data.

Customer data

    Name

Type in customer's name (e.g. John Doe Inc.). It will appear in the header of Web Update Client. This field is limited to max. 23 characters according to free space available in Web Update Client's header.

    Logo image

Select customer's logo image (or your own logo) to be displayed in Web Update Client by clicking Custom Logo. If you do not use this option our logo will be used instead. Logo image has to be 177x64 pixels in bmp format. If you use an image of a different size it will be automatically resized in Web Update Client to fit required size.

Please note that Custom Logo option is available only in licensed (registered) version of Web Update Builder.

    Web site

Type in FTP server address in a standard "FTP host" + "Remote dir" format (e.g. ftp.customerdomain.com for FTP host and /web/htdocs for Remote dir), FTP username and password for access and customer's HTTP web site address (e.g. www.customerdomain.com). Enable "Use Active FTP Mode" option if the FTP server requires so for successful transfers. List of web pages selected for Web Update Client will be uploaded to this FTP server address when you click Upload. The list is automatically saved in the text file named wuclist.wub and you can not rename it.

Please note that you have full control over which FTP access parameters your customer will be able to change in Web Update Client. If you stay with defaults your customer will not be able to change any of FTP access parameters. There are "Editable by user" checkboxes for FTP username and password. If enabled changes will be allowed. For FTP server address you have two levels of protection. By default FTP server address is not editable. Second option allows only changes to the path after FTP server's name and third options allow complete change to the FTP server address.

    Proxy settings

If customer's computer accesses the Internet through a proxy, type in customer's proxy server parameters.
