Starting point for all of these is the program's Settings dialog.
You can open that dialog by right clicking on the system tray icon
and choosing Settings, or if you are in the Notes View just click
on Settings in the Shortcuts bar.
Tips you will find below cover just the most common situations.
We encourage you to play with program's options and discover what
else is possible.
Displaying 1, 2 or 3 months calendar on the desktop
Go to the Calendar Appearance tab in the Settings dialog. There
you will be able to select a Calendar Type and a Style for it.
For three months calendar the style is fixed to having the current
month displayed with icons and other two months with text. If you
go with one or two months instead, then you will be able to choose
the style by yourself – make them display with icons which
is more attractive, or with text which allows you to make them
small and saves desktop space.
Changing icons for the desktop calendar
Go to the Calendar Text/Icons tab in the Settings dialog and look
at the Icon Options section. Of course, you can change the main
icon library, but you can also enable "Use different icon
library for day names" option and set the program to use one
set of icons for day numbers (main library) and another set for
day names so you get a mix of two. Finally, there is an option
to set today's icon separately. We generally recommend that an
icon used for marking today's date is transparent and designed
in such way that the date it marks is still visible. For that special
purpose there is one stand-alone today's icon (Today.ico), then
there is today's icon library (Today.icl) and some of the date
icon libraries have their own today's icons (adc.icl, balls.red.icl,
blue.balls.icl).
Changing font style for the text version
Go to the Calendar Text/Icons tab in the Settings dialog and look
at the Text Options section. By clicking on Font button you will
be able to change font style and size. For text version of the
calendar we recommend going with smallef font sizes. You can also
change colors for calendar title, day names, current day (today)
and calendar text (day numbers).
Making adjustments to displaying notes and tasks
Go to the Notes/Tasks Bar tab in the Settings dialog. You
have two interesting sections there, Appearance and Size & Position.
With options available in Size & Position section you can place
notes/tasks bar wherever you want on the screen, adjust its size,
determine how much space should the program use for displaying
notes, how much for tasks and set notes spacing. On the other hand,
options available in Appearance section allow you to make notes/tasks
bar visually attractive on your desktop. You can choose font style
and size as well as color scheme including background color and
the percentage of background transparency.
What if I want only the calendar on my desktop?
Go to the General tab in the Settings dialog. In the Desktop Components
section disable Show notes and Show tasks options and click Apply.
